Diversity Statement
At Total Regen, we believe that diversity is not just a buzzword, but an essential element that drives innovation, fosters creativity, and cultivates a culture of inclusivity. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve and the customers we support.
What Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) means to Total Regen
Diversity is the fact that we are all unique and inclusion is about valuing that. Having diversity embedded in the business allows us to receive help from having a range of perspectives in decision-making. Â
Developing an inclusive environment ensures we profit from one another’s differences and every individual can thrive at work.
We want everyone to feel that they can be the best version of themselves, that their contribution matters and that they are able to perform to their full potential, no matter their background, identity, or circumstances.Â
Total Regen is committed to encouraging equality and diversity and nurturing an inclusive culture with a workforce that fully reflects the communities we serve.Â
The aim is for our people to be truly representative of all sections of society and our customers, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. In all the work we do, we are also committed to unlawful discrimination against customers, suppliers or the public.Â
Our ongoing EDI commitments are:Â
- To increase colleagues’ awareness of unconscious bias through targeted training, as well as other diversity and equality challenges, we face.Â
- To aid in attracting the next generation through a different range of graduate programmes and school partnerships.Â
- To supply a platform for future growth and development through Total Regen’s Diversity Network.Â
- To even out the gender imbalance within the industry as part of our Positive Impact Plan 2025 and embed EDI within our business.Â
It is our policy that all employees are treated fairly in relation to job applications and opportunities for training, career development and promotion. We are a disability confident employer. If you have a disability or long-term health condition that might affect your progress through our application and recruitment process, please let us know so that we can accommodate your needs and make reasonable adjustments. Â
We are proactive in our approach to inclusive recruitment. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, and we promote equal opportunities for all. Total Regen is a non-discriminatory employer committed to the recruitment and promotion of all based on ability and merit, irrespective of disability, race, gender, health, social class, sexual preference, marital status, nationality, religion, employment status or age. We will treat your application fairly and assess you for the job based on merit, capability, and skills. Â
This commitment includes training managers and all other employees in their rights and responsibilities under the equality policy. This includes employees conducting themselves in a way that helps the organisation provide equal opportunities in employment, and prevent bullying, harassment, victimisation and unlawful discrimination.Â
One of the ways we are embracing diverse views is through our People Forum and Diversity Network.Â
Our People Forum is a two-way communication process and a method of employee engagement, where colleagues can contribute to the success of the business. The People Forum covers all aspects of business operations, offering an opportunity to inclusively consult colleagues on critical business changes before a formal roll-out.Â
Our Diversity Network is a colleague-led initiative, where its members are at the forefront of helping to identify and promote Total Regen’s diversity policy, and are advocates for representation, equality, and fairness in our workplace. This includes highlighting topical issues and challenges, not only in the construction industry, but also within society. All members act as active ambassadors that drive change within Total Regen to ensure our people are treated fairly, based on their capability and contributions.Â
Open to everyone, the Diversity Network plays a key role in integrating a diverse workforce, creating an inclusive culture, and keeping employees engaged and motivated. Total Regen colleagues can access a range of activities supported by the Diversity Network and are free to take part. One of these is National Inclusion Week, where the Diversity Network highlights the importance of diversity and inclusivity through a range of internal and external events.Â
We are working with schools and educators as part of ‘Our Communities’ priority to ensure we create a legacy in the diverse areas we work in. As part of our engagement, we work on increasing awareness within the young generation about what it means to work in construction and the distinct roles that are available to them.
We think it’s important to ensure that the roles are represented by delivering various kinds of engagement by our talented colleagues; whether it’s contributing to child safety week, school assemblies and other activities, we ensure that we are in line with highlighting the diverse range of roles available within the company and the industry.Â
With our customers and supply chain, we look to work with those who share the same level of commitment to diversity and inclusion. As part of our inclusive strategy, we actively engage and invite our customers and supply chain to take part in our Diversity Network led events and training.Â
As part of our 2021 goals, we are aiming to develop a meaningful partnership with a leading organisation in Inclusion and Diversity to help us drive this agenda with a focus.Â
